Portraits & candid shots featuring people. Family, friends, celebrities and the general public. Pretty much anything goes if it is human.
Land of Nod
Sweet dreams little one.
Touching Light
Whilst on a climbing trip in the French Alps I was attempting to get a shot that, for me, illustrated the feeling that climbing gives. My good friend was close to topping out on a 6c whilst the sun was cooking the rock. I actually combined three separate photographs to get this shot as each had elements I liked.
Rock Star
A friend of mine performing with his band. Caught in full rock star mode and bathed in blue light. This is caught entirely in camera with no post editing,
Rainbow Run II
My work hosted a colourful paint-based charity fun run in aid of St Richard's Hospice. I had a hard time keeping the paint away from my camera, but a fabulous photo op. This is 2/4.
Sunbathe
Another shot of my new granddaughter. A tricky one with the sunlight the way it was and I didn't quite pull it off but it was a good learning experience.
Rainbow Run IV
My work hosted a colourful paint-based charity fun run in aid of St Richard's Hospice. I had a hard time keeping the paint away from my camera, but a fabulous photo op. This is 4/4.
Listen To Me
My beautiful granddaughters are colluding whilst sat next to a lamp that provides great colour and mood. Its probably best I don't know what is being said.
Aurora Through the Looking Glass
My granddaughter and a bit of outdoor self-reflection.
Leap
Three days spent at the National Pony Society's show at the Three Counties Showground made from some good practice at action shots.
Bed Time
Just had her bath and now its time for bed.
Guitar Hero II
A friend of mine shredding at a local gig.
Adventure Outdoors II
My youngest granddaughter on a day of exploring the countryside.
Leap II
Three days spent at the National Pony Society's show at the Three Counties Showground made from some good practice at action shots. This rider wasn't even looking where she was going!
Hiker's Rest
A lone hiker takes a moment to savour the view.
Kick Flip
A walk along the beach at Portishead, near Bristol, was pleasantly interupted by some cool skaters performing ramp based tricks. Good practice on some fast focusing.
Family
Part of a photoshoot I did for my daughter's birthday. This is her with her young family.
Adventure Outdoors
My eldest granddaughter on a day of exploring the countryside.
Guitar Hero
A friend of mine shredding at a local gig.
Land of Nod II
It has clearly been a tough day. 🙂
Autumn Princess
My work colleague's hair looked amazing with an autumn sun and the leaves on the trees.
Bounce
Two of my children on a trampoline. I took about 50 shots and this was one of only two where they were both in the air at the same time. It is a shame that one face is covered. Next time I'll take 100 shots.
Nua
The hand of my brand new granddaughter, just a few hours old. For those that don't know, the title is the Irish word for "new".
Off To Explore
I don't normally do any processing "in camera" preferring to shoot in RAW, however it is always worthwhile knowing what your camera can do. This is the "dramatic" setting and I'm actually quite pleased with how it turned out whilst shooting my eldest granddaughter.
Ezras Assemble
My grandson is slightly obsessed with superheroes and so a little dress-up and Photoshop fun was in order.
Mischief
Cheekiness personified.
Rock Star II
A friend of mine performing with his band. Caught in full rock star mode.
Self III
Sometimes I need reminding that photography doesn't have to be a grand statement. Sometimes it is just about a little self-reflection.
Self
My first attempt at a self portrait. I'm not 100% happy and will try again, but it is a good first attempt I think.
Black Lives Matter
I volunteered to help at a local BLM protest yesterday and managed to capture some great images but this is my favourite. I wish I'd got the girls' contact details now to thank them.
Lauren Rose
Perhaps a little clichéd but this Rose was so stunning and Lauren is the perfect garden imp.
Rainbow Run III
My work hosted a colourful paint-based charity fun run in aid of St Richard's Hospice. I had a hard time keeping the paint away from my camera, but a fabulous photo op. This is 3/4.
Nighttime Rendezvous
Having a little play with my new HTC One M8. This couple were at the bar and far too interested in each other to worry about me taking their picture.
Embers of the Day
The son of my friend lost in thought as he stares into the fading embers of a chiminea.
Rainbow Run
My work hosted a colourful paint-based charity fun run in aid of St Richard's Hospice. I had a hard time keeping the paint away from my camera, but a fabulous photo op. This is 1/4.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Taken from near the summit of Herefordshire Beacon in the Malvern Hills. My two granddaughters contemplate the path ahead, whilst I contemplate their futures and all the possibilities they hold.
My Girls
I realise I'm biased but I think I did a good job in producing some beautiful young ladies. I took this on the shores of the med with a lovely sunset for lighting and just a touch of flash to bring out their features.
Cyclo-Cross
A British Cycling cyclo-cross race that took place at my work. I liked the silhouettes of the participants against the sunset.
Self II
Making use of a convex street mirror.
Generations
My new granddaughter holding the hand of her great-grandmother.
Happy
Part of a photoshoot I did for my daughter's birthday. This is my youngest grand-daughter enjoying the sunshine. I just love the expression I managed to catch.
Little Girl
There was a little girl,Who had a little curl,Right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good,She was very good indeed,But when she was bad she was horrid. - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Fractured
Time I visited the doctors I think. No I'm not in need of moisturiser, just some fun with Photoshop.
Flowergirl
A friend asked me to photograph their wedding which was a huge terrifying responsibility, but enjoyable eventually. This is the flowergirl who was very photogenic.
