These images do not currently fit in to any of the other galleries, but I may expand the subjects at some point and re-categorise them.
Burst
From a display at Pitchcroft. The tree adds something, but not sure what. 🙂
By Land or Sea
The partnership of a long neglected boat and the humble bicycle was just begging to be photographed.
Canal Ladder
Taken at Diglis basin on the Worcester to Birmingham canal.
Candle
Low light in black and white.
Childhood Memory
I've combined a child's swing, a soft focus and a slight sepia wash to try and create a dreamy, faraway atmosphere.
Cloister Shadows
The shadows cast through the cloister windows at Worcester Cathedral. I may retake this picture someday as it has much more potential than was realised.
Commute
A long exposure shot of a Subway train in Toronto.
Cooperation
I'm really drawn to the colours of orange and blue lately. Luckily, the local CO-OP and Amazon provided a fix.
Crescent
This was a long shot in two senses of the word. I needed a an exposure in excess of 10 seconds to get the detail on the moon's surface. But I also had to wait over an hour before the clouds were surrounding the moon without obscuring it.
Denim
You know I'm a little bored when I start photographing my own leg. 🙂A red filter on B+W gave a nice effect on my worn out jeans.
Fields of Battle - Lands of Peace
This exhibition in Worcester displays the work of international award-winning photojournalist Michael St. Maur Sheil. Over 10 million people worldwide have now viewed the exhibition, which is open-air and free to view. The exhibition will be in Cathedral Square from 25 August to 30 September as part of the city’s History Month. Worcester is the only location north of London to host the exhibition in 2018; after closing it will go directly to St. James’s Park, London for the final part of the centenary period.Captured over a period of eight years, Michael St. Maur Sheil’s photography depicts First World War battlefields around the world as they are today. One hundred years on, time and nature have helped to heal the scars on the landscapes, turning places of horror and devastation to lands of peace and tranquillity.
Flood
There's no doubting this sign. Found where North Parade meets Dolday in Worcester.
Flying Scotsman
It is Father's Day tomorrow and today I finally got to see a childhood hero in the flesh that my dad would have been delighted to see with me. I wish my photo could convey the noise and smell as well. Taken at Shrub Hill Station, Worcester.
Follow the Path
A streetlamp lights the way.
Fretwork
The often missed work of art underneath the table in a pub.
Funfair
A long exposure shot of a local funfair.
Gate
A old rusty gate that used to lead somewhere but is now long forgotten.
Iron Rock
A rusting chain runs through the volcanic rock.
Iron
The side of an old abandoned crane had both lovely colours and great textures. The sun casting shadows was an added bonus.
Light Nights
Garden lights on a Spring evening, with the moon trying not to be outdone.
Light Rest
A Red Admiral butterfly takes a rest in the light and warmth of a lamp in a large Victorian hallway.
Lock Gates
The lock gates at Diglis.
Lost Art Of Communication
In the age of cell phones this rarely used phone box has been left for nature to reclaim.
Love Locks
Commemorative padlocks attached to a footbridge. I don't really agree with the practice but it hopefully makes for an interesting photo. Let's also hope Dave & Annie are still together.
Love Sparkles
A heart-shaped sparkle.
Lunar
Just a smidge off a full moon on a rare cloudless night.
Morning Commute
Not that I do commute by train but if I did, a cup of coffee and an intelligent read would be the way.
Night Light II
Another in a mini-series of shots I have taken of street lamps. I love the feeling they evoke, especially with the mist included.
Night Time Highway
A long exposure shot of the M5 motorway.
Noel
Happy Christmas 2017
Old Barn
A derelict barn and some rusting farm machinery that I came across somewhere in Ontario Canada. I really should have noted where I was, but I spent most of that trip just wandering randomly.
Paddle Blade
A pause in paddling to appreciate the feeling it gives me.
Pipework
Steel pipes, slowly rusting.
Rainy Night
I took this whilst waiting for a bus at around 1am in Toronto.
Renovation
A steam locomotive midway through renovation at the Severn Valley Railway.
Resting Spot
A bright purple wall behind a public bench makes for a relaxing place to sit.
Run Aground
Not really run aground of course, but what looks to be a rather nice leisure cruiser at one time, has been left to rot.
Scatter Fire
From a display at Pitchcroft. Left the shutter open for longer on this one in an attempt to capture more fireworks.
Scooter Fix
Taking a break during a little back alley maintenance. The composition of this shot was just all there in a happy accident as I walked by.
Sluice Gate
I'm pretty sure this is not used anymore. I found it tucked away in a field near the river Teme.
Soul Window
My first play with a new macro lens and a LED ring flash. A bit of practise is needed I think, but not a bad start.
Street Light
Orange sky and orange lamp.
Supermarket Crash
A trolley lies half buried in the shallows of the River Severn. You can tell it has been there for some time.
Tethered
A boat tethered at a small jetty on Llangorse Lake in the Brecon Beacons.
TS Jack Petchy
One of the powered vessels that belongs to the Sea Cadet Corps, the TS Jack Petchy is an 80 tonne training ship that I recently had the pleasure of spending a week on.
Underpass
Grafitti, abandoned shopping trolley and a flooded subway.
USS Harry S Truman
One of the largest aircraft carriers in the world recently visited the Portsmouth Harbour for a few days.
Walk Toward the Light
A misty evening can change the landscape drastically. This normally welcoming view appears eerie and dramatic as I walk home.
Winter Darkness
A walk on a winter's night casts some great shadows and mood.
Writing on the Wall
Something about the sign for a local restaurant sprayed on a wall is very appealing to me.
