This album features photographs that are all about Landscapes. Natural vistas and rural scenes, but hopefully with a point of interest.
At The Going Down of the Sun
Driving past a field of poppies and I just had to stop.
Beach Comber
My friend's dog Shadow enjoys a forage on the beach at Kilmuckridge, Co Wexford, Ireland. There was no post-editing work done on this photograph I was lucky enough to capture the wonderful light "in-camera".
Bramble Sunset
Although I took this in October it still had a Summer evening feel to it. I got a lot of strange looks when I pulled over to take this.
Breaking Light
Sometimes, photography is just about being in the right place at the right time. I had to tweak the exposure slightly but sun breaking through the clouds was just good timing.
Burning Sky
Some lovely colours in the clouds from this rather dramatic sunset.
Cascade
A long exposure shot of Powerscourt Waterfall in Wicklow, Ireland.
Chasing the Wind
A sailing vessel enters the Solent with The Needles in the background.
Cumulus
Dramatic skies over the English Channel. I used a red filter to give the clouds contrast.
Earnslaw Lake
The lake that was once Earnslaw Quarry, Malvern.
El Golfo
The green lake at El Golfo in Lanzarote. Another scene with an alien look. I like the contrast of colour and texture.
Evening Clouds
A rain storm was just clearing to provide a nice sunset on the beach in Bournemouth.
Evening Walk
The light on a spring evening as I was walk along the river is simply wonderful.
Fields of Gold
A golden yellow crop in a field on my drive home from work.
Fire & Ice
A frozen lake and a wonderful sunset. Too good not to snap.
Golden Shoreline
A golden sunset reflected off an already golden tree line. This year's floods have presented some beautiful photographic opportunities.
Gullet Quarry
A local disused quarry in the Malvern Hills has become a beautiful tourist spot.
Hazy Shade of Winter
Well what else could I have called it? Nice view of my office.
Hill View
A view of the Malvern Hills from the Ketch roundabout.
Lake Shore
Part of the shoreline of Llangorse Lake in the Brecon Beacons.
Lakseside Sunset
Working in the outdoors is a blessing for many reasons, but not least for the photo opportunities.
Lava Field
The landscape of Lanzarote is truly stunning. This is not the greatest shot as it was taken on my phone from a fast moving vehicle. But I love the alien look of the lava in the foreground and the volcanoes in the distance.
Le Lac
On a recent climbing trip to the French Alps, we discovered this beautiful spot to swim and relax when it got too hot to climb.
Leafy Lane
A walk in the woods with a HDR treatment.
Leather on Willow
A summer afternoon at the cricket. New Road, Worcester. Worcestershire are in bat with the cathedral in the background.
Light Mist
A bright moon, a streetlamp and some evening mist combined make for an eery but beautiful walk.
Lonely Sky
There is something about an empty beach. Mute colours and dramatic clouds gave an impression of isolation to me.
Lonely Walk
The avenue of trees at the northern end of Pitchcroft. The black and white seemed to give it a melancholy feel.
Maize Maze
Wandering through the Maize Maze at Top Barn Farm.
Maltese Sunset
A beautiful evening looking over the Mediterranean sea to Comino and Gozo from Malta.
Malvern Hills
A view from Herefordshire Beacon to Worcestershire Beacon on a bracing evening.
Model Boats
This is my first attempt at faking tilt-shift using Photoshop. Not the best example, but with practise I hope to improve.
Model Malvern
A view of Great Malvern from the hills
Moon Over Moraira
As the title says, this is a long exposure shot of the moon over Moraira bay in Spain.
Morning Frost
An early morning drive saw a lovely watery sunrise across the fields near Spetchley.
Mossy Bank
Taken near Earnslaw Quarry in the Malvern Hills.
One Tree Hill
Crookbarrow Hill near Worcester. Known locally as Whittington Tump.
Rain Stopped Play
The cricket pavillion on the King's School pitch is up to its waist in water at the moment. Hard to believe that this building is on stilts.
Riverside Sunset
An evening walk along the River Severn.
Severnside Reflections
The burst banks of the River Severn stretch across the fields producing some beautiful, if only temporary, new landscapes and reflections.
Summer Meadow
Lomo shot of a nearby meadow. A little experiment switching from Photoshop to Gimp.
Sunset Pool
An evening view of our hotel's pool.
Swamp
Taken in the Country Park, Nunnery Wood, Worcester.
The Needles
The iconic landscape on the coast of the Isle of Wight.
This Way
The final lock where the canal meets the Severn.
Tree Line
I am pleased that the use of an orange filter on this black and white shot has highlighted the clouds nicely.
Under a Blood Red Sky
With apologies to U2, this sunset greeted me as I left work one day.
Waterside Sunset
The floods we have in Worcester at the moment certainly change the landscape but they take nothing from the beauty of the city.
Wave Crash
A windy day in Malta didn't spoil things at all.
Wharf
Low tide on the Thames at Woolwich.
Winter Moon
A near full moon taken over fields in Worcestershire. With a filter applied it looks a little like sunlight.
Winter Sun
A view taken from Bournemouth beach very near the pier.
Portland Bill
A crystal clear but very windy day on Portland Bill in Dorset. Heaven.
