Photography and Mental Health are closely linked for me. It has been such a long time since I have posted a video and this is down to my poor mental health. A common sign is that hobbies or tasks that you normally enjoy, often become a chore and you procrastinate until they become impossible. This is true of me and photography and making videos. I apologise and in this video, I try to explain.

Hopefully this answers some questions but please comment if you have any insight or feedback for me.

Some tips on long-exposure photography in my latest video. I spent a recent holiday in Ireland and visited the Powerscourt Waterfall. Whilst there I took some photos using a neutral density filter and shutter speeds in excess of 20 seconds. I was hoping to smooth out the moving water so that it gave me that ethereal look that you often see. I had a lot of fun experimenting with settings and I’m pleased with the results.

Using my Yashica TL Electro-X and some Ilford Delta 3200 Professional, I take to the streets at night. The film produces some lovely results which I have also included in my “Film” album.

Flatbed scanners such as the Epson V800 are amazing, but expensive. What can we do if we are on a budget? In this video I make a suggestion that uses a dSLR and about £40 worth of accessories. All items were easy enough to assemble and even if you do not have a dSLR, a mobile phone will also work.

Leave a comment if you have any other suggestions or improvements we could make.
